Welcome, web surfer!! You've found the 88x31 cLuB, a place for collecting, gifting and trading those tiny 88×31 buttons that used to be on every homepage on the Information Superhighway.

Here's the deal: open your packs every day, keep your faves, pass the extras on to your buddies, and stamp gifts into each other's guestbooks. Trade with friends to finish your collection. Keep an eye out for shiny ones. And if you're REALLY lucky... an ultra!! (There's only one of each. Ever.)

» Foils «

Every button comes in a foil. Most are clear... but not all of them! Some shimmer, some sparkle, and a lucky few do even stranger things. No two shimmer quite the same.

Got extras? Fuse three of the same button into one shinier one.

Buttons from the very beginning of the cLuB are First Prints, and there will never be any more of those.

The web is full of old 88x31s, so bring 'em in! Drop one on the Wall of Buttons and it joins the cLuB. Find one first and it's got your name on it forever.

» The Ledger «

Every button copy has its own number (like Neon Nite #12 of 50), and every time one changes hands, the cLuB writes it down: who it came from, who it went to, when, and why (a daily pull, a gift, a guestbook stamp, a trade...).

New button designs go in too, the second they're added: a fingerprint of the artwork, its rarity, how many copies can EVER exist, and where the art came from. So nobody can sneakily swap a button's picture, mess with its credits, or print extra copies later. No funny business!!

All the entries are chained together, kinda like a blockchain but without the crypto. Each entry gets a fingerprint (a hash) made from that entry plus the fingerprint of the entry before it. So every fingerprint depends on the whole history behind it. Pretty kewl, huh?

That means nobody can quietly rewrite the past. Not even the webmaster! Change one old entry and its fingerprint stops matching, and so does every fingerprint after it. The site checks new entries as they come in, and double-checks the whole chain from the very first entry every day.

Wanna be extra sure? Write down the latest fingerprint below and check back later. If the history is honest, the chain will still lead right to it.

Good 2 know:

• The ledger tracks who owns which copy. Anyone can save a picture of a button, but only the ledger says whose copy is the real #12.
• Buttons are just for fun. They can't be bought or sold for real money. Ever.
• If someone deletes their account, their name disappears from the ledger (it says "a former player"), and the chain still checks out A-OK.
